The FBI and the U.S. Marshals Service were forced to shut down parts of their computer networks after a mystery virus struck the law-enforcement agencies Thursday, according to an Associated Press report.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Marshals Service confirmed that it had disconnected from Justice Department computers as a precaution after being hit with the virus, while an FBI spokesperson would only say that it was experiencing similar issues, according to the report.

“We too are evaluating a network issue on our external, unclassified network that’s affecting several government agencies,” FBI spokesman Mike Kortan told the AP.

The virus’ type and origin are unknown, but spokespeople for both agencies said agencies’ access to the Internet and e-mail was shut down while the issue was evaluated.

Government regulations require agencies to report any security issues to US-Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT), but a call to CERT late Thursday for comment was not immediately returned.

Captain Chaos has retired for Good!

Well, I do not know how many of you people know who Captain Chaos is, but he is a character Cannon Ball Run Movies. He was part of my childhood memories. As I was doing this post, I was look for videos… And…I came across some very funny ones of him and his alter-ego Victor..

In the first Cannonball Run film, Pamela (Farrah Fawcett) asks Victor how he came to know Captain Chaos. Victor explains as follows:

When I was real young, I didn’t have any friends like I do now, like J.J., and…well, like J.J. One day, I was in the schoolyard, nine guys were beatin’ me up pretty good, and there he was. Dun dun DUNNN!…out of the blue! Pow! Slam! Bam! Baff! I sure was grateful! Nobody bothered me at school after that.

The Day the Deer was Shot!

I has something interesting happen to me today. I was at Free Geek volunteering help recycle old e-waste and I got a call from my mother-in-law, but it was not her. It was Washington County Sheriff ask me about shooting that happen around our house about 7:30 PM on Monday, May 4, 2009.

When I came home last night everyone was asleep and I seen State Troopers Patrol car up at the neighbors  house and there was a van there also. I really did not think much of it at the time, but I got call today asking about. My mother-in-law had them talk to me because I own a rifle.

The way the sheriff was acting is like I was the one that shot the deer, but I was not even home when the shooting took place. I know I did not do it, but I could not be sure if someone took my gun and usual it. About 15 minutes later the sheriff talk to me again and told me he it did not look like the gun has been fired in very long time. I informed him that it has not been fired in over 5 or 6 years, but still had powder burns from the last time I fired it in 2001 or 2002.
